Plain English summary: Use the platform lawfully, respect other journalists, don’t scrape our content, and pay for any paid courses. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or accessing any content on MediaSkillBridge (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to register. By registering, you confirm that you are 16 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
4. Course Enrolment and Access
Free courses: Access is granted upon registration and remains active while your account is in good standing.
Paid courses: Payment grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access course content. Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if you have completed less than 30% of the course.
Certificates: Certificates are issued upon successful completion of the required course elements and are personal to you. They may not be altered or misrepresented.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reproduce, redistribute, or resell course content without written permission
- Use automated tools to scrape, download, or copy course materials
- Post content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or incites violence
- Impersonate instructors, staff, or other users
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Interfere with the security or integrity of the Platform
6. Intellectual Property
All course content, videos, materials, and Platform design are owned by MediaSkillBridge or our instructor partners and are protected by copyright. You receive a limited licence to access content for personal, non-commercial learning purposes only.
Content you submit to community forums remains yours, but you grant MediaSkillBridge a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Platform.
7. Instructor Terms
Instructors who create courses on the Platform agree to a separate Instructor Agreement. Instructors are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their course content. MediaSkillBridge may review, edit, or remove content that violates our standards.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, your access to paid content will cease and no partial refunds will be issued for unused access.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that course content will achieve specific career outcomes.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MediaSkillBridge shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding any claim.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.
